General Questions

What is online therapy, and how does it work?
Online therapy is a convenient and accessible way to receive mental health support through a secure video service. Sessions are conducted in real-time with a qualified therapist, allowing you to access care in a place and time that suits you.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy is beneficial for anyone seeking support, personal growth, or tools to manage challenges such as stress, anxiety, or difficult life transitions. If you’re unsure, we offer a free 10-minute consultation to help you decide.

What kind of mental health concerns do you support?
We provide support for a wide range of issues, including General anxiety, health anxiety, social anxiety, depression, stress management, low self-esteem, OCD, PTSD and personal growth challenges.

Are my sessions confidential?

Yes, your therapy is completely confidential. Everything discussed in your sessions stays between you and your therapist. I follow strict professional and ethical guidelines to ensure your privacy is protected. There are rare exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality, such as if there’s a risk of serious harm to you or others, or if required by law (e.g. safeguarding concerns or court orders). Wherever possible, I would discuss this with you first.

Services

What techniques do you use in therapy sessions?
Our therapists use evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and compassion-focused therapy. You  can find out more about the techniques on our services page here.

What is the difference between individual therapy and guided self-help?
Individual therapy involves one-on-one sessions with a therapist, focusing on your unique needs. Guided self-help provides structured materials and exercises you complete independently, with occasional therapist check-ins for guidance.

Can I switch between therapy and guided self-help?
Yes, if you start with one approach, you can switch to another. For example, you can begin with therapy sessions like CBT and later choose to explore Guided Self-Help (GSH) for more self-directed work, or vice versa, depending on your evolving needs.

Do you support children and young people?

Whilst we primarily work with adults, we can support children and young people on a case by case basis after initial assessment. If specialist peadiatric or adolescent support is needed we can signpost to relevant services.

Do you offer therapy for couples or families?

No, currently we offer therapy for individuals only. Our focus is on one-to-one CBT to support personal mental health and wellbeing. If you're looking for couples or family therapy, We are happy to recommend trusted professionals who specialise in that area.
